1. How do I choose a celebrant? It is a good idea to telephone a few celebrants and talk to them and also to follow up with a visit to get to know them. Celebrants come in all styles and personality and your choice is an important part of your perfect marriage ceremony! I offer a complimentary first visit with no obligation to make any bookings for the future.
I would recommend that you begin choosing your celebrant as soon as possible as often in peak season many celebrants are fully booked 12 months in advance. Also there are legalities to consider with regard to Marriage (please refer to the Marriage Legalities page on this website).
When you are ready to formally reserve a date and time you will be asked for a deposit and for couples intending to marry you will be invited to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage for me to file and process.
4. If I want to write my own vows and promises, how do I get information? As your celebrant I will help you with locating material to give you some ideas to work from, although I think that if it comes from the heart it has the most meaning! We can use my own library and also I will provide you with some samples, some internet references and other relevant sources. There are legally required elements for marriage which must be incorporated within the vows; however I will guide you in this aspect.
A Shepherds Touch Ceremonies works from an agreed fee with no hidden extras, so you may rest assured that the price quoted will be the price you pay. The fee you will be quoted will cover all meetings, completion of any legal paperwork, creation of the ceremony, a rehearsal and of course the ceremony on your Wedding day. You will find a more detailed description of inclusions on the unique wedding or commitment ceremonies pages of this website.
For those short on time or on a budget there is also a choice of wedding package ceremonies available at a lesser cost.
My first visit is complimentary however a deposit will be required in order to formally reserve your date and, in the case of marriage, for the completion of the NOIM. The balance will be due either at rehearsal or 2 weeks prior to the wedding, whichever is sooner.
By choosing a Registered Marriage Celebrant to officiate at your Wedding or Commitment Ceremony, you are free to choose your location. Indoors or out, at home, a wedding venue or public park your favourite place just choose!
I am always happy to chat - feel free to give me a call
